Thrilled to win Candide Gardening's August photo competition in the 'winter' category.
'Winter seed heads at Hauser and Wirth, Somerset.'
Hauser and Wirth is home to a stunning garden designed by Dutch garden designer Piet Oudolf.
I visited for the first time in January this year and have subsequently been back twice since.
It is truly a breathtaking and inspiring sight which evolves from season to season, so whatever time of year you visit you will be privvy to different vistas throughout the metamorphosis of the plant's life cycle.
January was a perfect time to see the seed heads and grasses in their most skeletal form; the real bare bones of the garden.
I was captivated by the afternoon light which highlighted each naked stem from each other. Natural beauty at its finest.
I will be delighted to receive a printed canvas of my winning photo and a selection of mixed seeds to plant.
