Tool Kit - Rockery Trowel

I started using Burgon and Ball Rockery Trowels over five years ago; they were recommended to me by a garden designer I was working for and I have never been without one since. In fact, as my client's will know, I recommend this tool to everyone and it is now a staple item of many North Somerset tool kits.

As the name suggests, this is an ideal tool for rockery maintenance but I find it has a multitude of uses. It makes a particularly swift bulb planter, gliding through clay soil, it is exceptionally useful for weeding, transplanting and getting into difficult places. Its 3cm width minimises soil disturbance and root damage of surrounding plants.

This stainless steel trowel is endorsed by the RHS and comes with a lifetime guarantee.

The spec. The rockery trowel is 30cm in length and 3cm wide, comprising of a strong, long stainless steel blade with a FSC hardwood handle and short leather hanging cord. Overall weight 244g. It's light, easy to carry around in a pocket and sits comfortable in the palm of your hand without slipping as you tend to the garden. A very robust piece of kit. Simple but effective.

I use the rockery trowel in all weathers and it has never shown any sign of rust or tarnish.

In fact the only way you are likely to be parted from your Burgon and Ball rockery trowel is to accidentally throw it on the compost heap out with the green waste!

The Burgon and Ball rockery trowel retails at £12.99 and can be bought directly from their website and various other online outlets and nurseries.

This rockery trowel has been kindly gifted to me free of charge by Burgon and Ball but I want to make clear this is an honest, unbiased appraisal of a tool which has been an essential part of my tool kit since 2015.
