The Dairy NGS 2018

The Dairy is a stunning North Somerset garden in Weston-in-Gordano open for its annual National Garden Scheme fund raiser.

The exquisite gardens and contemporary barn conversions have been built from scratch, plant-by-plant, brick-by-brick by Christine and David Lewis who have renovated waste land and old concrete milking parlour which stood on the site of Weston-in-Gordano Manor House. Much of the original old stone found in the soil has been incorporated into the new design.

The Dairy, Clevedon Road, Weston-in-Gordano, North Somerset, BS20 8PZ.

Open Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 June 2018 14:00 - 17:00.

Drawing on the vast views across Gordano Valley the gardens have a sense of place and connection in their environment. This borrowed landscape adds depth and height to the 1.5 acre gardens which are surrounded by Avon Wildlife Trust nature reserve.

The Dairy attracted a national audience by featuring in the May 2018 issue of Gardener's World magazine in the 2-for-1 entry card section with a dedicated Dairy web page (photo by Debi Holland).

The Dairy is open by appointment. Email Chris Lewis to arrange.

If you are in the area do pay a visit; the garden is an absolute delight and boasts many different 'garden rooms' so something to excite all tastes.

I started working at the Dairy at the beginning of 2016 and have loved seeing the garden develop through the seasons.

In 2017 I was honoured to plant feature hebes in the south courtyard, replacing huge architectural hebes that had outgrown their space, so am very excited to see how they have settled in.

There is an enormous collection of plants, every corner a new vista to inspire. A garden lovers dream. Hope to see you there. ...there will be lots of homemade cake!

If you would like to see how the garden has developed over the last years then read my latest post on The Dairy's 2021 National Garden Scheme open day.
